Date Night on the Potter's Wheel

Service Description

Experiment with 1 or 2 pounds of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! Jamie will provide all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or mug. $65 per wheel... 2 people can share a wheel, or each person can reserve their own wheel ($130 per couple). This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open studio time within one week is included for additional surface decoration. Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 75 colors! $65 registration fee includes everything; one wheel, clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. Clay, tools, and glaze included. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so participants will be guided to use glazes with discretion. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own hand towel! Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Depending on upcoming availability, missed sessions may not be refunded or rescheduled. Sunshine on Cedar is open right next door to the studio until 8:00pm serving food, beer, and wine. You are welcome to bring your food and drinks into the studio.
