Handbuilding Level 2 Saturdays

Service Description

*This class is reserved for prior Level 1 students: Brittney, Charlotte, Eloise, Jean, Lorel, Nicole, Marilyn, Melissa, Rome, Sarah, Tracy, & Wendy. Build upon the skills learned in Level 1 and create 3 more complex projects with a focus on surface detail and techniques. Projects include a lidded slab box with 3D features, a floral wall tile, and a sgraffito project (plate, vase, mug, etc.). The slab box and floral wall tile require a minimum of 2 days of handbuilding. Depending on your design, the sgraffito project may also require more time. This 6-week session meets once weekly for 2 hours and includes unlimited Open Studio time for extended surface decoration. All glazing must be completed within 30 days of the last scheduled session. Projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing. Due to limited space in the studio, finished work and personal belongings must be picked up no later than 45 days from the last scheduled session. All clay and glazes are nontoxic stoneware, so they are safe for food, the microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own hand towel! Level 2 may be repeated. Students who complete Level 2 are eligible to move on to Level 3. Upon completion of any level, all students are eligible to participate in our quarterly art exhibition and sale! Students who complete levels 1, 2, and 3 are eligible to participate in our Level 4 Emerging Artist Program!
