Play with Clay Ages 2-7 & Older Siblings

Service Description

Make, glaze, and keep a ceramic project! Older siblings may also register (no additional guardian required). Children absolutely love the tactile experience of working with clay! It is moldable, squishy, and fun! However, it can also be very messy and challenging to control, so adult assistance is required for children 7 and younger. Otherwise, the kiddos usually just end up playing with mud! SESSION 1 Wednesday, May 6th 5:00-7:00 Children ages 7 and younger will explore and experiment with 1 pound of clay and make anything they can imagine (with the assistance of a parent or guardian). The possibilities are endless! 30 minutes of demonstrations and guidance will be provided by our patient and talented teacher, Hannah! Use the remainder of your time to explore and create with clay! Projects will then slow-dry and get fired in the kiln. SESSION 2 Wednesday, May 27th 5:00-7:00 Return to glaze your mini masterpieces in 3 weeks with a large selection of ceramic glaze colors. If May 27th doesn't work for you, you can schedule a different day on our GLAZE DAYS Sign Up Genius. Projects will get fired a second time and will be take-home ready in 1-2 weeks. This $30 package includes everything for 1 parent & 1 child; 1 pound of clay, tools, demonstrations & instructions, bisque fire, glaze instructions & materials, and glaze fire. Participants are responsible for helping with clean-up. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. NOTE: Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and please bring your own hand towel! PICK-UP DEADLINE JUNE 17th Abandoned work will be removed from the studio or sold at our Abandoned Pots sale because we just don't have room to store them any longer. Please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Refunds will not be issued with less than 48 hours notice unless we can fill your seat.
