Play with Clay! Recommended for ages 2-6

Service Description

Make, glaze, and keep a ceramic project! Children absolutely love the tactile experience of working with clay! It is moldable, squishy, and fun! However, it can also be very messy and challenging to control, so adult assistance is required for children 6 and younger. Otherwise, the kiddos usually just end up playing with mud! SESSION 1 Thursday, August 7th 3:00-5:00 Children ages 6 and younger will explore and experiment with 1 pound of clay and make anything they can imagine (with the assistance of a parent or guardian). The possibilities are endless! 30 minutes of demonstrations and guidance will be provided by the teacher (Jamie!). Use the remainder of your time to explore and create with clay! Projects will then slow-dry and get fired in the kiln. SESSION 2 Thursday, August 28th 3:00-5:00 Return to glaze your mini masterpieces in 3 weeks with a selection of over 75 colors. Projects will get fired a second time and will be take-home ready in 1-2 weeks. If August 28th doesn't work for you, we can schedule for a different day. This $30 package includes everything for 1 parent & 1 child; 1 pound of clay, tools, demonstrations & instructions, bisque fire, glaze instructions & materials, and glaze fire. Participants are responsible for helping with clean-up. Older siblings may also register to join! All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and please bring your own hand towel! Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Depending on upcoming availability, missed sessions may not be refunded or rescheduled .
