Service Description

NOTE: Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring a standard-size bath towel or apron. Registration is for a group of 5 ($65 per person). SESSION 1 Wednesday September 2nd 12:30-2:30 Experiment with a pound of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! You will receive all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or cup. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher on the potter's wheel. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Additional clay may be added on at $4 per pound (includes clay, bisque fire, glaze, and glaze fire). OPEN STUDIO Unlimited Open Studio time within 1 week is included (no charge) for additional surface decoration, such as stamping, carving, etc. Please check our OPEN STUDIO schedule online. NOTE: Greenware deadline is 1 week after making. Want to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3D features? For an additional $10 per person, you may schedule a 30 minute session within 5-7 days of throwing your pot to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3 dimensional features. SESSION 2 Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 100 colors! Please schedule on our GLAZE DAYS on the website or contact Jamie to schedule as a group. NOTE: Glazing deadline is 30 days after throwing your pot $65 registration fee per person includes everything; clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, Open Studio for surface decoration, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. If anyone chooses to not have their work bisque fired to glaze and keep, will will refund $30 per person. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. PICK-UP These projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing depending on how many projects are ahead of yours. NOTE: Pick-up deadline is 45 days after throwing your pot. All abandoned work will be removed from the studio. Refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours from the scheduled event will not be issued (this includes gift certificate value). Refunds for cancellations or credit for rescheduling within 3 days of the event will be limited to $30 per person unless we can fill your seat (this includes gift certificate value).
