
Potter's Wheel Experience -- Make a Pot!

Service Description
SESSION 1 Thursday, July 10th 3:00 Experiment with 1 pound of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! You will receive all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or mug. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher on the potter's wheel. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open Studio time within 1 week is included for additional surface decoration. SESSION 2 Date to be determined Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 75 colors! $65 registration fee per person includes everything; clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, Open Studio for surface decoration, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel because you’ll need it! This class also serves as a prerequisite for membership in our Member's Studio! Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. Due to limited availability, missed or cancelled sessions may not be rescheduled or refunded.
