Potter's Wheel Experience -- Make a Pot!

Service Description

5:30 Friday, March 7th -- Throw one pot on the wheel, then return in 3-4 weeks to glaze it! Experiment with 1 or 2 pounds of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! Jamie will provide all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or mug. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open studio time is included for additional surface decoration. Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 75 colors! $65 registration fee per person includes everything; clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel because you’ll need it! Clay, tools, and glaze included. All clay and glazes are nontoxic stoneware, so they are safe for food, the microwave, dishwasher, and oven. All shops in the Cedar Street Bridge close at 6:00 except for Sunshine on Cedar which is next door to the studio and open until 8:00 serving food, beer, and wine.
