Potter's Wheel Level 1 STEPHANIE Sundays

Service Description

Learn how to throw on the wheel and make your own mugs, bowls, pots, plates, vases, and more! We presently have only one potter’s wheel, so one-on-one private sessions are provided. Each 6-week session meets once weekly for 2 hours of demonstrations, guided practice, independent practice, and clean-up. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher course. The 6 sessions cover the basics of throwing, including wedging, centering, opening, pulling, shaping, reclaiming, and glazing. Open studio is included for surface decoration and attaching handles and 3D features. Glaze and keep up to 4 of your favorite pots! Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel because you’ll need it! Clay, tools, and glaze included. All clay and glazes are nontoxic stoneware, so they are safe for food, the microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Additional practice time may be added on by reserving the wheel during a 90 minute Open Studio Throwing Experience for $40. Level 1 may be repeated. Students who complete Level 1 are eligible to move on to Level 2. Upon completion of any level, students are eligible to participate in our quarterly art exhibition and sale! Students who complete levels 1, 2, and 3 are eligible to participate in our Level 4 Emerging Artist Program!
