3-Day Workshop Double Pot Sculpture

THREE DAY WORKSHOP Get your hands in clay to make something you'll love... a double pinch pot sculpture! SESSION 1 -- BEGIN MAKING! Wednesday 2:00-4:00 January 7th Jamie will provide instructions, demonstrations, and all the guidance needed to begin creating a one-of-a-kind work of art. We will create the "body" of the sculpture by attaching 2 pinch pots to create a hollow sphere, then we'll reinforce the seam, clean it up, and begin shaping the details. SESSION 2 -- FINISH MAKING! Wednesday 2:00-4:00 January 14th Return to finish all the details! Students are given absolute creative freedom to customize their sculpture any way they can imagine. Attach 3D features (feet, horns, teeth, ears, a tail, etc.), and carve or stamp textured designs (scales, fur, etc.). SESSION 3 -- GLAZE! This date can be flexible. Text Jamie to schedule (805) 630-5685. May take 1-3 hours. Return to glaze, choosing from our selection of over 85 glaze colors. These projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing. $70 registration per person includes everything; clay, tools, glaze, instructions and demonstrations, and 2 kiln-firings. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so students will be guided to use glazes with discretion. Bring your own hand towel and wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty!
