Service Description
SECOND FRIDAY EVERY MONTH 5:30-7:30 Click "BOOK NOW" and choose a date! NOTE: Please wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty & bring a standard size towel and/or apron. $65 PER WHEEL... 2 people can share a wheel ($65 per couple) and make 1 pot per couple OR each person can reserve their own wheel ($130 per couple) and make 1 pot per person Registration fee includes everything; one wheel, clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, Open Studio, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. SESSION 1 2nd Friday of every month 5:30-7:30 Experiment with 1 or 2 pounds of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! Jamie will provide all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or tumbler. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open Studio time within 1 week is included for additional surface decoration, such as stamping, carving, underglazing, etc. Want to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3D features? For an additional $10 per pot, you may schedule a 30 minute session within 5-7 days of throwing your pot to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3 dimensional features. SESSION 2 Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 100 colors! Schedule on our website under GLAZE DAYS FOR NEW STUDENTS All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. Sunshine on Cedar is open right next door to the studio until 8:00pm serving food, beer, and wine. Place your order and they will serve you right in our studio! This class serves as a prerequisite for membership in our Member's Studio! Refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours from the scheduled event will not be issued. Refunds for cancellations or credit for rescheduling within 3 days of the event will be limited to $30 per person unless we can fill your seat. This policy includes gift certificate values.
