Service Description
Experiment with 1 or 2 pounds of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! Jamie will provide all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or tumbler. $65 per wheel... 2 people can share a wheel ($65 per couple) and make 1 pot per couple or each person can reserve their own wheel ($130 per couple) and make 1 pot per person This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open Studio time within 1 week is included for additional surface decoration, such as stamping, carving, underglazing, etc. Want to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3D features? For an additional $10 per pot, you may schedule a 30 minute session within 5-7 days of throwing your pot to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3 dimensional features. Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 85 colors! Date to be determined. $65 registration fee includes everything; one wheel, clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel because you’ll need it! Sunshine on Cedar is open right next door to the studio until 8:00pm serving food, beer, and wine. You are welcome to bring your food and drinks into the studio. Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Depending on upcoming availability, missed sessions may not be refunded or rescheduled .
