Service Description

Take your handbuilding skills to the next level and sell your work in the Cedar Street Bridge! Reserved for students who have experience working with clay. After booking, please text Jamie to schedule a 15 minute Emerging Artist Orientation. We will get you set up with your personal bag of clay and storage space. Come in during Open Studio hours and let your creativity take the lead! This is a self-directed 6-week course where students can create and sell just about anything they can imagine; from functional pottery to world class, one-of-a-kind works of art! Includes up to 10 pounds of clay, storage space, tools, glaze, 2 kiln firings per project, and 3 months of show/retail shelf space for up to 5 items. Emerging artists set their own prices and receive 80% of all sales (Sandpoint Ceramics collects 20% commission for managing the retail space, customer service, packaging, etc.). Jamie will be in the studio every day but Mondays & Tuesdays, ensuring a safe and productive environment while encouraging independent creativity, exploration, artistic growth, and personal responsibility. Students under 18 attending Open Studio on Mondays or Tuesdays must have a guardian with them at all times. This emerging artist program provides students with opportunities to explore and develop their creative talents in a supportive environment, encouraging self-expression and confidence while nurturing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to professional practices, young artists will gain insight into potential career paths and grow both personally and artistically. This program also fosters community engagement and helps youth connect with peers who share their passions, inspiring collaboration and cultural exchange. The Emerging Artist Program may be repeated.

Cancellation Policy

Thank you for booking with Sandpoint Ceramics! We look forward to creating with you! Please review the cancellation and rescheduling policy listed in the description of the class, course, or workshop you booked. Because we offer a wide variety of classes, courses, and workshops, our cancellation and rescheduling policies vary depending on the type of event. Some offerings have no specific cancellation restrictions, while others have deadlines that determine eligibility for full refunds, partial refunds, or rescheduling credits. Certain classes may not allow refunds or credits for missed sessions. Important Information: Cancellation deadlines: Refund and rescheduling eligibility depend on the specific policy for your booked class or event. Gift certificates: Bookings made with gift certificates are subject to the same cancellation and rescheduling restrictions as other payment methods. Missed classes: Missed sessions may not be eligible for refunds, credits, or make-up opportunities, depending on the class. Limited availability: Because class sizes are limited and instructors and materials are scheduled in advance, last-minute cancellations can prevent other customers from participating. Please refer to your original class description for the specific cancellation and rescheduling terms that apply to your booking. By completing your registration, you acknowledge and agree to those terms. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact Sandpoint Ceramics as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting our small business!
