Ages 10-100 are welcome to join (younger kiddos may sign up with a registered parent or guardian. Looking for a creative way to spend your Friday afternoons? Join our weekly Handbuilding Group at Sandpoint Ceramics in the Cedar Street Bridge! Whether you're brand new to clay or have years of experience, this welcoming community class is designed to inspire creativity, encourage connection, and provide a relaxing space to make something with your hands. Attend a single session or make it part of your weekly routine! Each Friday, Della—our friendly & talented handbuilding instructor—will guide participants through a new project using handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, slab building, and coil building. Projects may include mugs, bowls, plates, ramekins, vases, trinket dishes, wall art, figurines, seasonal décor, and much more! Every project is fully customizable, allowing you to express your own style and creativity. Prefer to work on your own ideas? You're welcome to use the class time to create independent projects with guidance and support available whenever you need it. With over 100 texture tool, a slab roller, and hundreds of in-studio examples, there really is no limit to your creations! One of the best parts of this group is the community. Bring a friend, meet new people, or simply enjoy a couple of hours away from the busyness of everyday life. Working with clay encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, improves focus, and provides the satisfaction of creating something meaningful with your own hands. You'll leave each week feeling refreshed, inspired, and connected to a welcoming community of makers. FRIDAY JULY 31st 3:00-5:00 - FLORAL VASES! Della, will provide instructions, demonstrations, and all the guidance needed to create a one-of-a-kind work of art. You'll have absolute creative freedom to customize your floral vase any way you can imagine! Unlimited Open Studio time is available within 1 week for anyone needing more time. RETURN TO GLAZE IN 3-4 WEEKS Choose from a selection of over 100 colors! These projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing. Clay, tools, and glaze included. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. Refunds will be limited to $20 per person if we can fill your seat.
