Service Description

RESERVED FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED LEVEL 1 Build upon your handbuilding skills and create more complex ceramic projects! Level 2 will challenge students to create more complicated, higher-quality projects that require more structural integrity, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, and direction following. Homeschool Level 2 is a 6-week session recommended for ages 8-17 that meets once weekly for 2 hours. Students will build upon techniques learned in Level 1 and create 4 more complex projects with a focus on structural integrity and surface detail techniques. Projects include a double pinch pot sculpture, a slab box, a wall mask, and a free-choice project. Creative freedom is always highly encouraged and supported! Open Studio hours are available for students who wish to spend more time on surface detail and glazing. All projects will be take-home ready within about 2 weeks after glazing. All glazing must be completed within 30 days of making. Clay, tools, and glaze included. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own hand towel! Level 2 may be repeated. Students who complete Level 2 are eligible to move on to our Emerging Artist Program! Upon completion of any level, all students are eligible to participate in our sales and may become members in our classroom!
