Service Description

Join Blake Keys of Key & Kiln and learn to throw honey pots, moon jars, butter bells, and more! This class is designed to support potters along their wheel-throwing journey, helping them create taller, thinner, and more refined pieces. It is ideal for intermediate to advanced students looking to strengthen their skills, explore new forms, and refine their craftsmanship in an instructive studio environment. An emphasis on advanced forms and production-oriented techniques will help build precision and confidence at the wheel. This small group class will meet in the Sandpoint Ceramics Community Clay Studio (suite 206) on Monday, December 8th at 4:30 for 2 hours of instructor demonstration and guided individual practice. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel or apron. Non-members will store, trim, and glaze in the Community Clay Studio. Members will store, trim, and glaze in the Member's Studio (or glaze in the Community Clay Studio). Contact Jamie for your 10% discount. Stoneware clay, tools, open studio, bisque fire, glaze, and glaze fire included. This class serves as a prerequisite for membership in our Member's Studio. CLASS REQUIREMENTS ● Foundational wheel-throwing skills ● Ability to confidently center 3-5 lbs of clay ● Basic knowledge of trimming, scoring & attaching, glazing, and studio tools/environment Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel.
