Service Description

Kids 9 and up will develop skills on the potter's wheel and handbuilding to make their own cups, bowls, pots, trinket trays, figurines, and more! This small group class of up to 9 students will meet on 4 consecutive days for 3 hours of wheel time, handbuilding, demonstrations, guided practice, independent practice, and clean-up. It is for all skill levels, especially beginners! JUNE 17, 18, 19, & 20 9:00am-12:00pm These 4 sessions cover the basics of handbuilding (pinch-pots, slabs, coils, score/slip/attach) and throwing on the potter's wheel, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open Studio hours will be available for all greenware work within 10 days. GLAZING Return in 3-4 weeks to learn glazing (sign up for one of our Glaze Days) and select from our collection of over 95 glazes! Glaze up to 5 finished projects during Open Studio hours. GREENWARE DEADLINE: June 30th GLAZE DEADLINE: July 18th PICK-UP DEADLINE: August 8th This package includes clay, tools, instruction, open studio hours, glaze, bisque fire, and glaze fire. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided. Ages 9-17 are invited! Students must be able to reach the pedal on the potter's wheel, follow directions well, and work/clean up independently. NOTE: Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own standard-size towel. Snacks and water bottles are encouraged. Missed sessions may not be rescheduled or refunded. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations after June 9th unless we can fill your seat.
