Service Description

Guests ages 10-20 may attend with a legal guardian who is also registered. Join us for a fun night of creating custom mugs, shot glasses, tumblers, steins, vases, or luminaries. This workshop includes 2 hours of handbuilding, unlimited Open Studio time within 1 week of making, and glazing (return in 3-4 weeks to glaze). SESSION 1 Saturday, July 25th 5:00-7:00Bring your own beverage and enjoy 2 hours of studio time with step-by-step guidance and demonstrations by a seasoned pottery pro (Jamie!). Handbuild your own pottery masterpiece using the slab method and choose from a wide variety of texture and carving tools to fully customize your surface details. If you need additional time, come in for unlimited Open Studio hours within 1 week to add the finishing touches. SESSION 2 Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze. Choose from our GLAZE DAYS FOR NEW STUDENTS. Return to glaze your new favorite vessel choosing from a selection of over 95 glaze colors and manifest some glaze magic! Clay, tools, glaze, and 2 kiln firings included. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so participants will be guided to use glazes with discretion. Sunshine on Cedar is open right next door to the studio until 8:00pm serving food, beer, and wine. Place your order and they will serve you right in our studio! PICK-UP These projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing depending on how many projects are ahead of yours -- we are a full-service studio with 25 members and hundreds of students and other guests monthly, so our kilns are always firing! Pick-up deadline is 45 days after making your pot. All abandoned work will be removed from the studio. Refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours from the scheduled event will not be issued (this includes gift certificate value). Refunds for cancellations or credit for rescheduling within 3 days of the event will be limited to $20 per person unless we can fill your seat (this includes gift certificate value).
