Service Description

JOIN US! Enjoy 2 hours of studio time with guidance by a seasoned pottery pro! Registration is $15 plus the cost of the item you select ($5 and up due in person at scheduled event time). ITEMS TO PAINT Our studio provides a wide variety of hand-made mugs, tumblers, wine goblets, flower pots, bowls, plates, vases, coasters, necklace pendants, ornaments, and more (depending on in-store availability)! Most items are hand-crafted by Jamie and her daughters, students, and interns right here in our vibrant studio located inside the Cedar Street Bridge. We also provide a selection of pre-molded mugs, plates, and other items from an outside source. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. SCHEDULE -1:30 Choose your item to paint (no limit) -1:35 The lesson begins! We will explain how our glazes work and how to apply them. We will provide examples of different techniques and answer all of your questions. Want to paint images or patterns? Our underglazes are perfect for that! Want to go for full coverage of color with a little glaze magic? Our stoneware glazes provide amazing results! Want to make some texture pop? Try the wipe-back technique! We also have a selection of over 100 stencils for tracing images and patterns. -1:50 Begin glazing! Your project may take 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on the size and complexity of your design. If you don't finish by 4:00, you may return during Open Studio hours to continue glazing until your masterpiece is complete (no additional fee)! Glazing deadline is 1 week from this date. FOOD & DRINKS Sunshine on Cedar is open right next door to the studio until 8:00pm serving food and drinks. Place your order and they will serve you right in our studio! PICK-UP These projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing depending on how many projects are ahead of yours -- we are a full-service studio with 25 members and hundreds of students and other guests monthly, so our kilns are always firing! Pick-up deadline is 45 days from this date. Abandoned work will be removed from the studio after 45 days from this date. CANCELLATION Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Refunds may be provided for cancelling or rescheduling within less than 24 hours only if we are able to fill your seat.
