Service Description
TUESDAYS 5:00-7:00 Click "BOOK NOW" to choose a date! Recommended for ages 10+ NOTE: Please bring a standard-size bath towel or apron and wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty SESSION 1 Experiment with a pound of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! You will receive all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or cup. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher on the potter's wheel. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Additional clay may be added on at $4 per pound (includes clay, bisque fire, glaze, and glaze fire). OPEN STUDIO Unlimited Open Studio time within 1 week is included for additional surface decoration, such as stamping, carving, etc. Check our OPEN STUDIO schedule online. NOTE: Greenware deadline is 1 week after making Want to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3D features? For an additional $10 per person, you may schedule a 30 minute session within 5-7 days of throwing your pot to learn how to make and attach a handle or other 3 dimensional features. SESSION 2 Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 100 colors! Please schedule on our GLAZE DAYS on the website. NOTE: Glazing deadline is 30 days after throwing your pot. $65 registration fee per person includes everything; clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, Open Studio for surface decoration, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. If you are interested in the lesson only for $35, text Jamie (805) 630-5685. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. PICK-UP These projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing depending on how many projects are ahead of yours -- we are a full-service studio with 25 members and hundreds of students and other guests monthly, so our kilns are always firing! NOTE: Pick-up deadline is 45 days after throwing your pot. All abandoned work will be removed from the studio. Refunds for cancellations less than 24 hours from the scheduled event will not be issued (this includes gift certificate value). Refunds for cancellations or credit for rescheduling within 3 days of the event will be limited to $30 per person unless we can fill your seat (this includes gift certificate value).
