Potter's Wheel Level 1 & 2 Combo For Existing Students
6 WEEK COURSE Fridays, October 16th - November 20th
Service Description
This is a combination of Level 1 and Level 2 for our existing Friday students. We will meet on 6 consecutive Fridays for 2 hours of demonstrations, guided practice, independent practice, and clean-up. Level 1 students who wish to repeat Level 1 will continue to focus on throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, shaping, and managing greenware with Jamie's support and guidance. Level 2 students will focus on larger scale, intentional design, trimming, and shaping/attaching handles. We will begin with 2 pounds of clay and focus on coning to center. Then we'll work up to larger quantities of clay and create bowls, mugs, vases, pitchers, plates, and other intermediate forms. Glaze and keep up to 10 of your favorite pots! Open Studio is available for finishing greenware (trimming & carving) and glazing. All glazing must be completed within 30 days of the 6th session. This package includes clay, tools, open studio, glaze, bisque fire, and glaze fire. Glaze and keep up to 10 of your favorite pots! All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food safe, but a small selection are not, so use discretion when glazing. Missed sessions may not be rescheduled or refunded, but 2 hours of practice time on the wheel may be scheduled by texting Jamie. Additional wheel time may be added on by reserving the wheel during a 2 hour Potter's Wheel Pass session for $40 (includes 1 pound of clay). Additional clay may be purchased for $4 per pound. The cost of additional clay includes the cost of additional glaze, larger shelf storage, and larger kiln space required for 2 firings. Refunds for cancellations within 1 week of the first session will be limited to $150 unless we can fill your seat. This includes gift certificate value.
