Potter's Wheel Level 1 WED 4:30-6:30
4:30-6:30 Wednesdays October 15th-November 19th - Recommended for ages 13 and up
Service Description
Learn how to throw pottery on the wheel and make your own mugs, bowls, pots, plates, vases, and more! Glaze and keep up to 10 of your favorite pots. This small group class of 5 students will meet on 6 consecutive Wednesdays for 2 hours of demonstrations, guided practice, independent practice, and clean-up. It is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher course. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel or apron because you’ll need it! The first 5 sessions are on the potter's wheel and cover the basics of throwing, including wedging, centering, opening, pulling, shaping, and reclaiming. The 6th session introduces glazing. Students may select from our collection of over 75 glazes! Glazing may be completed during Open Studio sessions. All glazing must be completed within 30 days of the 6th session. Missed sessions may not be rescheduled or refunded, but 2 hours of practice time on the wheel may be reserved if the schedule allows. This package includes clay, tools, open studio, glaze, bisque fire, and glaze fire. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food safe, but a small selection are not, so guidance will be provided when glazing. For an additional $10, students may schedule a 30 minute session to learn the handbuilding basics of making and attaching handles or other features. Additional wheel time may be added on by reserving the wheel during a 2 hour Potter's Wheel Pass session for $40 (includes 1 pound of clay). Additional clay may be purchased for $4 per pound. The cost of additional clay includes the cost of additional glaze, larger shelf storage, and larger kiln space required for 2 firings. Level 1 may be repeated. Students who complete Level 1 are eligible to move on to Level 2. Upon completion of any level, students are eligible to participate in our pottery sales! Students who complete levels 1, 2, and 3 are eligible to participate in our Level 4 Emerging Artist Program! This class serves as a prerequisite for membership in our Member's Studio.

Cancellation Policy
Thank you for booking with Sandpoint Ceramics! We look forward to creating with you! Please review the cancellation and rescheduling policy listed in the description of the class, course, or workshop you booked. Because we offer a wide variety of classes, courses, and workshops, our cancellation and rescheduling policies vary depending on the type of event. Some offerings have no specific cancellation restrictions, while others have deadlines that determine eligibility for full refunds, partial refunds, or rescheduling credits. Certain classes may not allow refunds or credits for missed sessions. Important Information: Cancellation deadlines: Refund and rescheduling eligibility depend on the specific policy for your booked class or event. Gift certificates: Bookings made with gift certificates are subject to the same cancellation and rescheduling restrictions as other payment methods. Missed classes: Missed sessions may not be eligible for refunds, credits, or make-up opportunities, depending on the class. Limited availability: Because class sizes are limited and instructors and materials are scheduled in advance, last-minute cancellations can prevent other customers from participating. By completing your registration, you acknowledge and agree to those terms. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact Sandpoint Ceramics as soon as possible.
