Pumpkin & Jack-O-Lantern Workshop

Service Description

Children under 10 may register with a registered adult. CUSTOMIZE YOUR OWN CERAMIC PUMPKIN OR JACK-O-LANTERN! SESSION 1 -- MAKE! 3:00-5:00 Saturday, October 31st Participants will be provided a pre-made clay sphere (approximately 5" x 5"), handmade on a potter's wheel right here in our studio. Jamie will provide references, instructions, demonstrations, and all the guidance needed to create a one-of-a-kind work of art. You may choose to carve, attach 3D features, and/or stamp with a variety of texture tools. Customize your pumpkin or jack-o-lantern any way you can imagine! The sgraffito technique may also be implemented with our selection of over 30 underglaze colors. Includes unlimited Open Studio hours within 1 week for finishing greenware. SESSION 2 -- GLAZE! Return 3-4 weeks later to glaze, choosing from a selection of over 100 colors. These projects will be take-home ready by December 5th (unless glazing is completed after November 28th). Clay, tools, and glaze included. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are food-safe, but a small selection are not, so participants will be guided to use glazes with discretion. Refunds or credits for cancellations less than 48 hours from the scheduled event will not be issued (this includes gift certificate value). Refunds or credits for cancellations or rescheduling within 3 days of the event will be limited to $30 per person unless we can fill your seat (this includes gift certificate value). Sunshine on Cedar is open right next door to the studio until 8:00pm serving food, beer, and wine. You are welcome to bring your food and drinks into the studio.
