SIGN UP HERE TO GET ON THE WAITLIST FOR UPCOMING CLASSES. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL WHEN A NEW CLASS IS OPEN FOR REGISTRATION. HANDBUILDING LEVEL 2 DESCRIPTION *This class is reserved for prior Level 1 students Build upon the skills learned in Level 1 and create 3 more complex projects with a focus on surface detail and techniques. Projects include a lidded slab box with 3D features, a floral wall tile, and a sgraffito project (plate, vase, mug, etc.). The slab box and floral wall tile require a minimum of 2 days of handbuilding. Depending on your design, the sgraffito project may also require more time. This 6-week session meets once weekly for 2 hours and includes unlimited Open Studio time for extended surface decoration. Projects will be take-home ready within 1-2 weeks after glazing. All clay and glazes are nontoxic stoneware, so they are safe for food, the microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own hand towel! Level 2 may be repeated. Students who complete Level 2 are eligible to move on to Level 3. Upon completion of any level, all students are eligible to participate in our quarterly art exhibition and sale! Students who complete levels 1, 2, and 3 are eligible to participate in our Level 4 Emerging Artist Program!
