WAITLIST FOR POTTER'S WHEEL EXPERIENCE Sign up here to get your name on the waitlist for upcoming classes! When signing up, please specify your preferred dates & times where it says "Add Your Message". We will do our best to accommodate your schedule and get you on the wheel as soon as possible. CLASS DESCRIPTION Recommended for ages 14 and up. To schedule a one-on-one class for children under 14, or to schedule a parent & child class for children 8 and older, please text Jamie (805) 630-5685. SESSION 1 Experiment with 1 pound of clay on the potter’s wheel and make your own pot! Jamie will provide all of the instructions, guidance, and demonstrations needed for you to make your own bowl, vase, or mug. This class is for beginners and anyone needing a refresher on the potter's wheel. The one-time wheel session covers the basics of throwing, including centering, opening, pulling, and shaping. Open Studio time is included for additional surface decoration. SESSION 2 Return in 3-4 weeks to glaze with a selection of over 75 colors! $65 registration fee per person includes everything; clay, potter's wheel demonstration & instruction, Open Studio for surface decoration, bisque fire, glaze instruction & materials, and glaze fire. All clay is stoneware, which is safe for food, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. Most glazes are nontoxic, but a small selection are not food safe, so please pay attention when using glazes. Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty and please bring your own towel because you’ll need it! This class also serves as a prerequisite for membership in our Member's Studio (opening May 1st!) Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule. Due to limited availability, missed or cancelled sessions may not be rescheduled or refunded.
